Omaha "College Affaire" March 27 at Millard North High School
Will feature approximately 75 colleges

(Lincoln, Nebraska, March 17, 2008) – High school students – especially juniors and sophomores – are encouraged to begin their college search efforts by attending the Omaha College Affaire Thursday, March 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Millard North High School, 144th & Pacific in Omaha.

This event, sponsored by EducationQuest Foundation and the Great Plains Association of College Admission Counselors (GPACAC), will feature representatives from Midwest colleges and universities, and will also include financial aid presentations at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

EducationQuest and GPACAC are also sponsoring the Lincoln College Affaire Thursday, April 3 from 7-9 p.m. at Lincoln Southwest High School, 7001 S. 14th St. in Lincoln (14th & Pine Lake Road).

EducationQuest provides these tips to help students make the most of their college fair visit:

Before you attend, determine which colleges you want to visit. Arrive early so you have time to visit your top colleges.

Prepare a list of questions to ask the college representatives. Ask about deadlines for admission, scholarships and financial aid.

Prepare pre-printed labels with your name and address to stick on information cards at college booths where you want additional information.

If you have questions about the Omaha College Affaire, contact Committee Chairperson Jodi Therkelsen, Guidance Counselor at Millard North, at 402-691-1378.
